graduated pilots from AAG

Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga, Philippines – A joint graduation ceremony was held on 18 March 2023 to formally recognize 21 cadet pilots from five (5) different batches who successfully completed Alpha Aviation Group’s Airline Pilot Program (APP).

“There is no secret to success – it is a result of preparation, hard work, and a willingness to learn from mistakes,” shared Capt. Anthony Tan (AAG Philippines’ Head of Training) in his welcome remarks.

Graduating with distinction is First Officer Andrea Zion Mandocdoc of APP Batch 49. In her celebratory speech, Mandocdoc recounted their training journey as cadets and acknowledged their families for the unwavering support. She also emphasized the importance of perserverance in achieving one’s goals, especially for women seeking to make their mark in the male-dominated aviation industry. “The aviation industry is slowly opening up, and when opportunities open, we should be ready,” Mandocdoc added.

Capt. Darren Adrian Acorda, (Air Asia Philippines Chief Pilot Training and Standards) graced the ceremony as guest of honor and speaker. He underscored the aviation industry’s resilience, having gone through multiple downturns since the 1990s and now on the road to another rebound yet again.

“If you want to be a pilot, it takes more than just hope – it takes preparation, knowledge, skill, attitude, and passion. Visualize your dreams, and never stop learning and growing. What’s for you is for you – be ready for what comes your way, and you’ll be well on your way to accomplishing your goals,” he advised to the graduates. (AAG Corporate Affairs)
