AAG Advances Its CBTA Adoption Project

Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga, Philippines – Alpha Aviation Group (AAG) advances the adoption of the Competency-Based Training and Assessment (CBTA) philosophy with another workshop by Harms Aviation GmbH (HATCO) last 28-31 March 2023, this time focusing on standardization of AAG Philippines (AAGP) and AAG International Center for Aviation Training (AICAT). AAG’s transition to CBTA started in 2018.

The workshop facilitated by Capt. Hartmut Fabisch and Capt. Stefan-Thilo Schmidt of HATCO touched on the developments around the new EASA-compliant Manual Suite (comprising Organization Management Manual, Operations Manual, and Training Manual) and Management and Training System Performance. Other topics discussed include CCQ benchmark course, CBTA grading, and grading software.

HATCO and the AAG Team also visited the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) in Manila to present the accreditation case and provide updates on the CBTA implementation of AAG. During the visit, the parties engaged in a discussion covering ICAO’s new provisions, CAAP/EASA future developments, and the design of a manual suite compliant with CARs and EASA regulations.

Currently, AAG is the only pilot training group in the Philippines that has adopted CBTA.(AAG Corporate Affairs)
