Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga, Philippines – For the first time since the COVID-19 Pandemic started, Alpha Aviation Group (AAG) is able to achieve its target intake for the Airline Pilot Program (APP), inducting on 20 September 2022 the largest batch composed of 16 with another two (2) joining the First Officer Preparation (FOP) Program and one (1) more deciding to upgrade his PPL training to APP.
“This is a clear manifestation of the public’s renewed confidence in the aviation industry. AAG continued to invest on our people, technology and know-how even during the pandemic, hence we are now in an excellent position to cater to the demand for world-class training which is now growing enormously across the globe,” states Mr. Cristopher Magdangal (AAG Regional Director, Asia-Pacific).
“We provide our cadets with nothing less than top-of-class training. AAG Philippines (AAGP) and AAG International Center for Aviation Training (AICAT) are the first ATOs in the Philippines to adopt and implement ICAO’s CBTA (Competency Based Training and Assessment) philosophy across all training modules and phases. This innovative ‘outcomes-focused’ training approach aims to develop and nurture among trainees the necessary pilot competencies to be safe, highly-resilient, reliable, critical-thinker and effective cockpit manager when flying an aircraft. This is a departure from the ‘qualification-based’ traditional training approach designed to enable trainees to demonstrate the minimum skill, knowledge and experience levels just to meet the qualification requirements prescribed by civil aviation authorities. The CBTA training framework enables learning and innovation rather than just passing a test,” explains Capt. Gaudencio Maniano (AICAT Accountable Manager).
“The AAG Family is also very pleased to welcome our first Muslim cadet, Bai Hadiyah Maikah Sema from Cotabato City who will soon join the growing pool of female aviation professionals under our Women in Aviation Advocacy Program,” shares Ms. Fina Santos (AAG Head, Student Affairs and Client Relations).
The APP covers CPL-IR-A320 Type Rating while the FOP covers CPL-IR. The CPL-IR phase is delivered by the AAG International Center for Aviation Training (AICAT) stationed in San Fernando Airport, La Union while the A320 Type Rating phase is conducted at the AAG Philippines (AAGP) Simulator Training Center in Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga. AICAT operates the largest fleet of basic flight trainer aircraft in the country (32 Cessna C172 and one Tecnam P2006T multi-engine) while AAGP also operates the largest and most-advanced fleet of simulator training devices in the country (three FFS, four FBS, one IPT).
Three (3) more intakes for APP are scheduled for November 2022, January 2023 and March 2023. (AAG Corporate Affairs)
