AAG Volunteers Club Joins Typhoon “Egay” Relief Operations

Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga, Philippines – Members of the AAG Volunteers Club headed by Ma. Christina Pineda (AAG Philippines Head of Admin & Facilities) and Fernando Yusi (AAG Philippines Head of Human Resources) alongside others from various private and public organizations recently participated in Hann Foundation Inc.’s “Sagip Kababayan” relief operations for the benefit of victims of Typhoon “Egay” (international name: Doksuri) which hit the country in the last week of July 2023.

In line with the AAG “CARES” (Community Assistance and Response) Program, the Group also donated 3510 bottles of mineral water and opened the AAGP Simulator Center event hall as mobilization and relief goods repacking area.

The mobilization effort produced over 1,500 relief packs which were distributed to affected families in the municipalities of Candaba, Masantol, and Sasmuan in Pampanga. The relief effort also extended to the municipality of Vigan in Ilocos Norte.

Typhoon “Egay” left 30 people dead. Combined with the effects of an earlier typhoon (“Falcon”) and southwest monsoon (“Habagat”), “Egay” also displaced more than 3 million people and left more than ₱1.9 billion damage to agriculture and ₱3.6B damage to structures. (AAG Feature)
