CLARK FREEPORT ZONE, Pampanga – Alpha Aviation Group’s commitment to its Core Values of Service Excellence, Teamwork and Customer Satisfaction fuels the company to explore ways on how to further enhance the training value and its delivery to its customers. Aside from heavily investing to state-of-the-art training equipment and facilities, the company is also allocating its resources to systems and tools in order to modernize the technologies and platforms being used for greater operational flexibility and efficiency.

As a training institution, facilitating learning is a prime focus for the company. “It is our goal to go beyond the traditional method and explore innovative ways on how we can best facilitate learning”, says AICAT’s Head of Training – Capt. Gwen Lucero. “We will make use of all possible means to provide our cadets with a holistic, worldclass pilot training”, he added.

With this objective in mind, the team started working on improving AAG’s Learning Management System (LMS) last December 2019. The training, IT and quality department are working hand in hand on this project. As a result, there are now two additional platforms being utilized by the cadets for a more comprehensive learning system. These platforms are: MOODLE and Comply 365.

Moodle is an acronym for “Modular ObjectOriented Dynamic Learning Environment”. This learning management platform is designed to provide a

robust, secure and an integrated system for a customized learning environment. AAG is currently utilizing MOODLE LMS in administering online examinations for its cadets and is exploring on the other features of the platform for future implementation. The platform was rolled out last 02 March 2020 and was first utilized by APP 01-2020 for their exams. Because of such system, the batch is still able to carry on with their ground school classes and examinations despite the Enhanced Community Quarantine declared in Luzon because of the COVID-19 health crisis.

Aside from MOODLE, AAG also started utilizing Comply 365, a document control and management system. Comply 365 is tagged as an “electronic flight bag” for cadets because it contains the documents, manuals and communications needed for their everyday session. Comply 365 is administered by the Document and Communication Manager (DCM) who ensures that users will be able to access the content or the material they need anywhere, anytime and in any device they wish to use. The soft-launch of the system was last 03 March 2020, just in time for the commencement date of APP 02-2020. Because of such system, the new batch was able to start with their ground school class at comfort of their own homes while waiting for the lockdown period to be lifted and officially start training on-site.

“This is what it means to always be one step ahead”, says AAG’s Regional Director for Asia Pacific, Mr. Cristopher Magdangal. “Because we have such systems in place, we were able to turn this unforeseen downtime into a productive time for our cadets. This also shows that we are true to our commitment to service excellence, teamwork and customer

satisfaction; our core values that enabled us to become the best and the biggest and our key to becoming even better”, he added.
